My son Skip learning in his teen years to help with his dad in the construction of a back porch. Now Skip is the foreman for Unruh Bros.
Two men leaning against a white work truck with a sign that reads "Unruh Bros Building & Remodeling, Serving Tucson 25 years, Licensed General Contractor, Herb 907-2128." The man on the left is wearing a denim jacket, orange shirt, and a cap, with his hand on the truck's roof. The man on the right is wearing a light denim jacket and a black cap, standing with his hands clasped. The background includes trees and a building.

More about us:

It all started with a porch, some tools, and a semester of high school wood-shop in 1972. With this, I built a den for my family. In 1983, I set up Captains Residential Repair and Remodeling. In 1996, Unruh Bros Building and Remodeling LLC was born, as my 3 sons joined the crew helping to restore and renovate our then new home: an abandoned, condemned historic house in downtown Tucson.

We have built brand new homes from the ground up. We have built pole barns. We've done commercial tenant improvements. We work on projects at our church occasionally. And all manner of remodeling and repair work.

Now that I don't work in the field as much, I spend my time mostly talking to homeowners about their jobs and how to remedy their particular situation. The daily construction activities are now being carried out by my son, Skip, who is our job foreman.

Everyone in the family has worked at some point for this truly family owned and operated business. My daughter, Valerie, was my secretary for many years, a duty now carried out by my daughter-in-law, Leialoha. The original website design and artwork was done by my youngest daughter Scarlett.

We have been blessed to serve the Tucson community for the last 40+ years! Our humble beginnings remind us that no job is too small or unimportant.
